Four start-ups from 36 candidates are opting for an accompaniment and funding program to reward and boost their commitment towards employability of young people at risk of exclusion. The winning project (or projects) will be announced on July 14.
Fundación AYO, which provides opportunities for personal and professional growth to young people at risk of exclusion, and NK5, a firm that manages and invests in companies that are experiencing situations of operational or financial instability, have announced the 4 finalist projects of the first edition of AYO Emprende: program that offers support to start-ups in seed phase that generate opportunities for young people from disadvantaged groups.
The two start-ups from Madrid: Empléate con Talento free digital channel for professional development- and Caseroo
-collaborative home-based food platform- and the Catalonian Nuwe recruitment platform to reduce the lack of talent in the technology sector- and RobinGood gourmet food brand produced by vulnerable groups- have been the four chosen among the 36 start-ups that submitted their nominations between April and May.
On July 14, these four finalists will defend their projects before the Investment Committee
of AYO Emprende, composed by experts from NK5, Inuit Foundation, ICADE or Banco Sabadell, decide which will be winners in this first edition.
The selected projects will benefit from a 12-month support plan,
valued at more than 40,000 euros and consisting of personalized mentoring, tailored training based on the start-up needs, an impact measurement based on the SROI methodology, access to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, partners and funders, workspace and soft financing of up to 50,000 euros.
David Avís, Director of Investment with Impact at Fundación AYO, said that “the receipt of 36 applications in our first call gives the measure of interest in the initiative by the entrepreneurial ecosystem, But also that Spain has a technological fabric with social awareness and that wants to contribute to the employability of young people at risk of exclusion even in their most initial periods. I want to congratulate Empléate con Talento, Caseroo, Nuwe and RobinGood, and I know that the choice of a winner by our Investment Committee will be very tie”.
